Saint Paul Central Minutemen Football Team

This weeks High School Athlete of the Week award goes to the St. Paul Central Minutemen football team. With a win this evening they will win their first St Paul City Conference title in 20 years. It took a miracle of a comeback last week to keep this dream alive as they trailed city rival Johnson/City Academy 18-6 with fewer than 12 seconds left in the game. Then Ladarian Horton threw a 32 yard touchdown pass to Jordan Larson to bring the score to 18-12. A recovered onside kick by the Minutemen gave them a shot at the unthinkable comeback. It was the Horton and Larson connection again from 49 yards to tie the game. A missed extra point again sent the game into overtime where St Paul Central put away Johnson 25-18 with one of the greatest comebacks in High School football history, 2 touchdowns in 5 seconds. Congratulations to this week’s High School Athlete of the Week, the St Paul Central Minutemen.
