Pilots Who Overflew MSP Appeal Revocation

The two Northwest Airlines pilots who overflew the Twin Cities by 150 miles are appealing the revocation of their licenses. The National Transportation Safety Board this morning confirmed that the pilots - Captain Timothy Cheney of Gig Harbor, Washington and First Officer Richard Cole of Salem, Oregon - have filed an appeal within the 10-day deadline. Now the matter will go before an administrative law judge. An NTSB spokesman told WCCO Radio News that, although there is no formal deadline for a hearing, it's typically scheduled within 120 days. The pilots lost their licenses after telling the FAA they lost track of time and place while working on their laptops in the workplace.
