We now know why Minnesota's reigning Mr. Basketball has been suspended from the Gopher basketball team. Bloomington Police say former Hopkins-star Royce White was arrested last month for allegedly shoplifting 100-dollars worth of merchandise, and shoving a Macy's security guard to the ground at Mall of America. He was arrested on charges of shoplifting and fifth-degree assault. White, and senior Devron Bostick were both suspended by head coach Tubby Smith for at least two games for violating team rules. It's unclear what precipitated Bostick's suspension, as he was not involved in the Mall of America incident.
This comes after Trevor Mbakwe was told by Athletic Director Joel Maturi decision he will not play until he's cleared in the court system on charges of felony aggravated battery. Mbakwe wasn't at practice Monday or Tuesday to take care of his legal matters.
