The number of homicides in Minneapolis is way down this year with only six so far. That's a rate one-third of what it was last year. Researchers with the Center for Homicide Research say the crackdown on gang activity along with a number of arrests of gang members is one reason the number of homicides has dropped significantly.
While MInneapolis has had only six homicides so far.....St. Paul has had 7.......which is about equal to last year at this time.
