Also this year he received an Emmy for his television play by play. Lee is the Minnesota Gopher Football radio play-by-play announcer too, where he has won the Associated Press' Minnesota play-by-play award five times and is a multiple recipient of the National Association of Sports Broadcasters and Sportswriters, 'Minnesota Sportscaster of the Year'.
