Teen Accused Of Arson Pleads Not Guilty
|
A Fosston man suspected of burning five buildings in northwestern Minnesota has pleaded not guilty to charges in Polk County.
Nineteen-year-old Nick Schouviller appeared in court Monday with his co-defendant, 19-year-old Levi Coyer of Fosston. Coyer did not enter a plea, but instead asked for a continuance until next week so his attorney could be present.
Coyer and Schouviller both have told the Polk County Sheriff's Office they were involved to some extent in the August 3rd arson spree that spilled into Mahnomen, Polk and Clearwater counties.
No one was injured in the fires, which damaged and, in some cases, destroyed vacant houses, historic town halls and an outbuilding.
As of Monday night, Schouviller and Coyer were being held in Northwest Regional Corrections Center in Crookston. Bond has been set at $150,000 for both men.
