A vandal has defaced portraits of three Minnesota governors at the Capitol.
The Minnesota Historical Society says official paintings of former governors Jesse Ventura, Harold LeVander and Elmer L. Andersen were drawn on with a marker.
The organization plans to remove and repair the portraits and put them back up as soon as possible.
Portraits of all of Minnesota's former governors are on permanent display at the Capitol. Historical Society Director Nina Archabal says the accessibility of the portraits is important to Minnesota citizens.
