Former Minnesota Vikings football great Carl Eller has another run in with police.
It happened early Wednesday night when officers spotted him riding a motorcycle in Minneapolis.
Last month, Eller was charged with two felonies for assaulting a police officer and making terroristic threats.
Police said officers on routine patrol last night recognized Eller and ran a license plate check on his motorcycle.
The check revealed the plates were impounded for past alcohol use.
Police pulled Eller over at 17th Avenue and 2nd Street North near the Minneapolis warehouse district.
He was cited for displaying unlawful plates and released.
The motorcycle was impounded.
Eller wasn't home when WCCO-TV checked Thursday.
Last month, Police said they saw Eller run a red light and speed away.
When Police confronted him they smelled alcohol on his breath. The officers say the 66-year-old attacked and injured both of them and that Eller continued to struggle even after getting tased.
Wednesday night's encounter was much different.
"He was very cooperative. He was very, very nice and he was not problematic at all," said Minneapolis Police Sgt Jesse Garcia. "He had not been drinking."
Police said Eller's drivers license is in good standing but the plates were illegal.
That stems from the past alcohol related driving offenses.
He was supposed to have a special license which indicated that, and apparently his license plate did not.
